London Knights put seven-game win streak on the line against rival Rangers

With the Ontario Hockey League season winding down, the London Knights have a chance to all but secure the Midwest Division title Sunday night.

London holds an eight-point lead on Kitchener and has three games in hand when the two Western Conference giants will face off at Canada Life Place Sunday night.

A win would put them 10 points clear, and the Rangers would only have 10 games remaining.

The Knights extended their win streak to seven games with a 5-1 win in Erie, PA Saturday night, but will be playing their third game in three days with the Rangers waiting for them.

Austin Elliott stopped 34 shots against the Otters to improve to 24-1 in goal since being acquired early in the season.

London had goals from five different scorers with Easton Cowan opening the game with a goal on the power play. Noah Read scored what was the game-winner, followed by Kasper Halttunen, Will Nicholl and Jarred Woolley.

London sits at 91 points through 54 games, while the Rangers have 83 through 57 games. The Windsor Spitfires are sandwiched between the two as the second seed in the Conference, leading the West Division with 81 points.
