London man charged after fleeing the scene of a B&E and crashing his car

London police have laid charges following a break and enter in the east end of the city that took place over the weekend.

Police say that on Saturday evening around 7:30, a homeowner in the area of Garland and Royal crescents called emergency services after spotting a man trying to break into his shed.

The suspect then fled the area. Police located the suspect’s pickup truck after it struck a tree near Masefield Crescent and Wexford Avenue. He was then transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A search of the vehicle yielded several tools associated with breaking and entering as well as license plates that had been reported as stolen.
