New measles exposures in multiple St. Thomas healthcare settings

Southwestern Public Health officials say there have been three more measles exposures in St. Thomas.

The first one was at the Central Community Health Centre on Talbot Street on Monday, March 10 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The second was at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital’s emergency department on March 10 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The third happened at Life Labs on Elm Street on March 11 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Measles is a highly contagious airborne virus.

Health officials say anyone without up-to-date vaccinations who may have been exposed should contact Public Health.
