The Oakridge Oaks are Ontario High School Volleyball champions after a near perfect season.

The Oaks won the AA OFSAA tournament with a 3-0 victory in the final over ÉS Catholique Champlain.

The win capped off a season for the ages for the Oaks. They went undefeated in TVRA play, WOSSAA and OFSAA.

“Just pure domination,” said Jon Marr. “Never seen a team so well round defensively and offensively. It’s crazy how they can attack the ball from anywhere on the court. I’ve never seen it executed so well.”

Not only did they win every game, but they also didn’t lose a set all season outside of tournaments.

“It might be the best volleyball team from the city in the last 25 years,” said Mike Darling, Oaks’ assistant coach and athletic director.

The London, Ont. school is no stranger to provincial titles. The volleyball powerhouse won the AAA OFSAA title in 2018 under current head coach Jon Marr.

They also won the AAA Championship in 2001, 1999 and 1997.

The Mother Teresa Spartans are returning from Kingston, Ont. with a silver medal from the OFSAA AAA Boys Basketball Championship.

Seeded seventh entering the tournament, the Spartans made their way to the final, but a 33-20 deficit at the half was too much to overcome against Pickering, losing 69-56 in the gold medal game

The Spartans won the 2018 title as a AA school, but no London, Ont. school has ever won the AAA Title.

Woodstock Collegiate Institute is bringing home a silver medal from the OFSAA A Boys tournament.

Playing as hosts, the Red Devils reached the championship game and lead into the third quarter, but their zone gave up too many three-point field goals to EJ Lajeunsese from Windsor, Ont. and lost the final 55-45.
