One person dead after Middlesex crash

Middlesex OPP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Egremont and Hedley Thursday morning.

Police are on the scene of a fatal crash in Middlesex Centre.

Egremont Drive is closed between Hedley Drive and Ilderton Road for the serious two-vehicle crash.

Police say that they were initially called to the scene at around 10:40 a.m., for a crash involving a transport truck and an SUV. The collision appears to have taken place between two vehicles headed in opposite directions.

According to OPP, the driver of the SUV has died and the driver of the transport was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Members of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team are the scene investigating the collision.

The road is expected to reopen this evening.
