Search efforts continue for person reported missing in Lake Huron

Search efforts continue for a person reported missing following a water emergency at Pinery Provincial Park in Grand Bend.

As previously reported, police in Lambton County said officers were called at about 3 p.m. Monday after receiving reports that a raft carrying five people was in distress.

According to police, two people were able to swim safely to shore, while two others made their way back onto the raft. One person remains unaccounted for.

Lambton OPP, OPP Aviation Services and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) continue coordinated search efforts in the area.

At this time, police said there are limited updates available as the investigation and search efforts continue, and additional information will be released when appropriate.
