Two injured in three vehicle collision in Thames Centre

Provincial police have laid charges against a 24-year-old driver after a three vehicle collision in Thames Centre on Sunday evening sent two people to the hospital.

According to OPP, a three vehicle collision at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Westchester Bourne summoned emergency responders just after 10:00 p.m.

Police investigation resulted in the discovery that the vehicle had been observed earlier in the evening driving erratically, and fled from police after a traffic stop was initiated.

Due to concern for public safety, police did not pursue the vehicle.

The collision later in the evening resulted in the driver’s arrest, and now the 24-year-old faces charges of impaired and dangerous operation, as well as flight from a peace officer.

The two drivers of the other vehicles were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
