Two teens are facing charges after allegedly assaulting another youth and a London Police Services (LPS) Special Constable at a London mall over the weekend.

According to LPS, on Saturday evening at around 6:30, two young men were involved in a verbal altercation with another young man on the lower level of Masonville Mall.

One of the teens reportedly assaulted the 13-year-old victim, and then the suspects threw chairs toward a group of young people.

Some concerned citizens attempted to get involved, and the pair left.

Police were informed of the incident by mall security, and when a London police Special Constable attempted to arrest the suspects, they assaulted the constable. A citizen assisted the constable in arresting the pair.

The 13-year-old victim and constable sustained minor injuries. Police say that the accused and victims were not known to one another.

A 15-year-old of Muncy, and 16-year-old of London were charged with one count of assault of a peace officer.

The 15-year-old also faces an additional charge of assault.
