Ending the day with sunshine in the London area

Julie Atchison has the latest forecast for the London region.

The cloud deck is starting to erode across the region as high pressure builds and the dry air slowly works its way into southern Ontario.

According to CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, we’ll end the day with some sunshine.

“You can see the cloud cover starting to break up. Temperatures have been slow to climb, but this afternoon it’s going to get cold. Tonight, We’ll drop down between -6 C and -8 C, and wind chills close to -10 C.”

A full day of sunshine is on the way for your Thursday, “Beautiful conditions, the winds easing off and banner day, with daytime highs climbing into the double digits,” Atchison added.

A warm front arrives on Friday with the chance of showers and the possibility of a few thunderstorms and an extreme push of warm air conditions.

As we head into the holiday weekend, the weather will be unsettled to start, and the chance for showers will linger into Saturday.

Wednesday: Mainly cloudy. 40 percent chance of flurries early this afternoon. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High plus 5.

Wednesday evening: Clear. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 6. Wind chill minus 8 overnight.

Thursday: Sunny. Wind becoming south 20 km/h in the afternoon. High 12. Wind chill minus 8 in the morning. UV index 6 or high.

Friday: Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Windy. High 22.

Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 14.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 12.
