Weapons call results in drug possession and bail violation arrest in Sarnia

Sarnia police were called to investigate reports of a man with a gun in the area of an Exmouth Street Shelter Friday evening.

Around 5 p.m., police saif they contained a group of four, including a man matching the description of the gun suspect.

According to police, a ‘high-risk arrest’ was made, and all four people were taken into custody.

A search of the first three people yielded nothing. When police searched the remaining man, they said they located nine grams of Fentanyl and several torch style lighters inside his backpack.

One torch style lighter had a grip that replicated a life size handgun, police say.

The three other individuals were released, but a 49-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with fail to comply with release order (bail conditions), breach probation contrary, possession of a schedule 1 substance – fentanyl.
