One person suffered serious injuries after the roof of a huge dairy barn came crashing down Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the roof collapse on Road 146, northeast of Listowel, around 6 a.m.
They say they found “a young farm worker” trapped under the debris. That worker had to be taken from the scene via air ambulance with serious injuries, but is now in hospital in stable condition, say emergency officials.
While no cause has been determined yet, it is believed a large amount of snow on the barn roof led to the collapse.

The Perth County OPP say a number of cattle were injured in the roof collapse, but it’s unclear exactly how many.
Neighbouring farmers could be seen loading and hauling away cattle from the large dairy farm in order to house the animals until a more permanent home can be found for them.
The Ministry of Labour is now investigating.
Along with a partial roof collapse at a Home Hardware in Brussels on Sunday, there have recently been full or partial roof collapses at barns in Perth East, another south of Stratford, and another barn roof collapse near Benmiller in Huron County.
Excessive snow loads are to blame for all of those roof collapses.
