Ashley Hyshka
Ashley Hyshka is a graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications. Ashley started her career working as a community reporter for Kwantlen’s student newspaper, The Runner. During her time with the newspaper, she was awarded Amnesty International Canada’s Youth Media Award and the Canadian University Press’ John H. McDonald Award for her investigative feature article into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Following graduation, Ashley worked at CTV News Vancouver as a teleprompter operator for CTV Morning Live, and later as an associate producer for the station’s consumer news segment. Ashley has moved 10 times across Canada, living in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia. She has since settled in London with her husband Justin and young son Jackson. When she’s not working, she can be found travelling, baking, or cracking jokes (much to her husband’s annoyance). Ashley currently works as a web writer with CTV News in London where she’s worked since 2022. Ashley speaks English.
