Saint-Jérôme police continue to search for Nathan Maille, a 15-year-old boy who has been missing for more than a week, prompting increasing concerns from his family.
Maille was last seen at a friend’s house, according to Saint-Jérôme police (SPSJ).
“We have unconfirmed information suggesting that he might be in the Laval, Montreal or Toronto areas,” said SPSJ spokesperson, Melanie Beauchamp.
In in interview, Maille’s cousin, Alexandre Lebreton said that he had previously run away a couple of times but has always retuned within a few hours to a day.
“It has been very stressful for the family. Everyone is worried and we are hoping for the best,” Lebreton said.
He added that Maille had been missing school and hanging out with the wrong crowd.
The family said that they have received information from different social media and that Maille could be in Toronto.
“Well, basically, he is telling friends on Instagram that he would be in Toronto. Is he really in Toronto? I do not know. He does not speak a word of English. He has no money by now. He only left his house with $150,” Lebreton noted.
Some family members said he has not responded to their attempts to reach him through his social media accounts and are making a plea for his safe return.
“I want him to know that the whole family loves him. We just want him to come back home and to be safe,” Lebreton said.
Maille is 5′5 and weighs 119 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on his disappearance can contact Saint-Jérôme police.
