Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating an apparent arson attack on a vehicle in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough on Thursday afternoon.

According to an SPVM spokesperson, around 4:45 p.m., police officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a car was on fire in a parking lot on Gouin Boulevard near Dollard Street.

“The fire was quickly brought under control, and damage was limited to the vehicle only,” said SPVM spokesperson Emmanuel Couture.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

“Since incendiary objects were found near the car, the investigation was transferred to the SPVM arson squad.

No arrests have been made. The vehicle was towed and will be inspected.

The investigation is ongoing.
