Arson squad investigating after terrasse torched in Sainte-Thérèse

Sainte-Thérèse police are investigating after a restaurant terrasse was torched in Sainte-Thérèse.

Police in Sainte-Thérèse are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred early Monday morning.

According to authorities, a 911 call was received just after midnight, reporting a fire on the Restaurant L’Ardoise terrasse on Curé-Labelle Boulevard.

Police and firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene, and the fire was brought under control.

A security perimeter was set up.

No injuries were reported, but major damage was done to the restaurant as well as the Plan A Snack Bar next door.

“Our police officers are on the scene, and our investigators are meeting witnesses and looking for evidence relating to the event. A forensic identification technician specialising in fire scenes will be visiting the scene,” explained Sainte-Thérèse Chief Inspector Karine Desaulniers.

“He will carry out various analyses to determine the precise causes and circumstances. No arrests have been made to date. We are still in the early stages of the investigation,” she added.
