Google hides a surprise for fans of viral Quebec rock group Angine de Poitrine

If you type “Angine de Poitrine” into Google right now, something unexpected happens. The search results page fills up with black dots, with a black-and-orange triangular icon appearing at the bottom of the screen.

It’s a clear nod to the math rock duo’s signature black-and-white polka-dot costumes and papier-mâché masks, emblazoned with triangles.

The easter egg is the latest sign of just how much the anonymous Saguenay duo has exploded in recent weeks. Angine de Poitrine gained popularity in February 2026 when a live session recorded for Seattle radio station KEXP accumulated millions of views, launching the eclectic band from Quebec bars and festivals onto the world stage practically overnight.

Their song Fabienk is now at the top of the Viral 50 chart on Spotify, with over five million streams since February, and their second album Vol. II topped Billboard Canada’s physical sales chart for rock albums.

The band has also reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Global chart.

Angine de Poitrine will play a free show in Montreal on June 27 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
