A man in his 50s died after being hit by a vehicle on Montreal’s South Shore Monday morning.
Châteauguay police said they received a call around 6:35 a.m. about a collision at the intersection of Anjou Boulevard and Bell Street.
According to preliminary information, the driver was going down Anjou Boulevard when he deviated from his lane, crashed into two streetlights, and hit a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital where he was declared dead. The driver was also taken to hospital but his life is not in danger.
Police say it’s unclear why the driver deviated from his lane.
Provincial and local police are on the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
