Man dies after collision with school bus north of Montreal

A man was killed in a collision with a school minibus in Saint-Donat, in Quebec’s Lanaudière region, on Tuesday.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said that officers were called to a collision involving two vehicles, including a school minibus, on Mont-Comi Avenue at around 12:45 p.m.

The four elementary school aged children on board the minibus were not seriously injured, according to the police. The driver of the minibus was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 60s, was also sent to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A patrol officer specializing in collision investigations will be analyzing the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the crash. The provincial police say that weather conditions may have contributed to the collision.
