Metal object found in Halloween candy in Laval

Laval police (SPL) are investigating after a metal object was found in a Halloween candy.

According to the SPL, on Nov. 25 a Sainte-Rose resident called 911 after his daughter discovered a metal rod inside a jelly candy she received while trick-or-treating.

The candy, a red-and-green strawberry jelly, was in a partially opened clear wrapper. Part of the treat also appeared to be missing.

Police say the candy was collected in the Champfleury area, specifically on De Chardonneret, Bouvreuil, De la Volière, Des Huards, Des Bécasseaux and Du Passerin streets.

Laval police are urging residents to carefully inspect any candy collected on Halloween.

Anyone who witnessed or experienced a similar incident should call 911 immediately.
