An agreement in principle has been reached with Quebec as part of the negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement of the Brotherhood of Roadside Inspection Constables.
The tentative agreement for the 2023-2028 collective agreement applies to the 318 members of the union organization. It was reached on Thursday night, according to the Brotherhood of Constables.
The contents of the agreement have not been disclosed, as the union is keeping it for its members, as is usually the case in such circumstances.
The federation has indicated that the agreement in principle will first have to be presented to its executive committee on April 24. The board will then decide whether to present the agreement to the members. If it is, it will be presented on April 27.
The Chair of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel, and the Minister of Transport, Geneviève Guilbault, said in a joint press release that this agreement would make it possible to improve the working conditions and salaries of roadside inspectors and also to improve the safety of road users.
