Much of the REM was temporarily out of service for the Tuesday afternoon commute after a truck collided with an overpass in Griffintown and got stuck.
Officials said the collisions happened at around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Saint-Maurice and de l’Inspecteur streets.
Police said the truck was stuck under the overpass and crews are assessing the situation. No injuries were reported.
“In such circumstances the teams have to make sure the structure is ok before resuming the service. Crews are on it,” the REM said in an email to CTV News.
The REM says service is stopped between Gare Centrale and Panama stations in both directions for an undetermined time and that shuttle buses are being deployed.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the REM said on social media that service was gradually being restored to customers.

Gradual service resumption is underway in both directions.
The REM has been plagued with repeated interruptions in recent weeks, partly due to winter weather.
