A 16-year-old boy is dead after a stabbing Tuesday evening in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 6 p.m. about the incident on Barclay Street near Victoria Avenue.
When officers arrived onsite, they found the teen with upper body injuries.
He was conscious as he was transported to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.
“We were informed that it is now considered the eighth homicide,” said Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson with Montreal police.
A security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to meet with witnesses.
The circumstances surrounding the event remain unknown.
