Quebec’s transport ministry (MTQ) is reminding drivers that the Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels will be closed on the weekend.
Planning alternate routes before leaving is advised.
Meanwhile, the REM is extending its free service for another week.
Ville-Marie and Viger Tunnels (Route-136)
- From Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Route 136 eastbound will be closed (towards downtown) between the Montagne Street exit (4) and Papineau Avenue.

- During the same period, Route 136 westbound will be closed between Panet Street and the Lucien-L’Allier Street access.

As a result the following default closures will be in effect:
- Access from Notre-Dame Ouest / de la Cathédrale and Highway 10 West (Bonaventure) / Robert-Bourassa Boulevard.
- Access from l’Hôtel-de-Ville Avenue / Sanguinet Street and Saint-Antoine Street East.
- LISTEN to CJAD 800 Radio for traffic updates every 15 minutes
Free REM rides extended
- The REM light-rail line will be closed on Saturday and Sunday in March. Consult the network status and find out more about available shuttles.
- Next week, the REM will run Monday to Friday between 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. as well as 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Free REM trips will continue from March 3 to 7.
