North Bay police arrested five people, all from locals, on Thursday and seized several guns and a large quantity of illicit illegal drugs.
At 8:50 a.m. on Feb. 27, members of the North Bay Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2000-block of Trout Lake Road as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
Three women and two men were located inside the home and arrested during the incident.

Police searches of the individuals and the residence resulted in the seizure a 12-gauge shotgun – which had its barrel removed, a .303 calibre rifle and accompanying ammunition, a .22 calibre rifle and accompanying ammunition, an air rifle, a handgun capable of firing large ball bearings and accompanying ammunition, four BB handguns, a prohibited weapon (a knife that can be opened with centrifugal force,) approximately 95 grams of suspected fentanyl, about 4 grams of cocaine, approximately 1 gram of suspected crystal meth and 42 suspected hydromorphone pills along with $1,300 in cash.

As a result of the incident, four people – two men, ages 52 and 28, and two women, ages 43 and 39 – were each charged with four counts of drug trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
The 28-year-old and 39-year-old face additional charges related to violating probation orders and the 52-year-old is also charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
A 26-year-old woman was also charged with breaching a conditional sentence order as part of the incident.
All of the accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
