A suspect angry about getting a parking ticket in Sault Ste. Marie recently assaulted a security officer.
Sault police said in a news release Monday that a 64-year-old man from Desbarats, Ont., has been charged with assault.
The incident took place around noon May 30 on Great Northern Road.
“Although the accused had left prior to officers’ arrival, an investigation revealed the accused had grabbed the vest of a security officer and pushed them backward after being issued a parking ticket, which they stuffed into the victim’s vest before driving away,” police said.
“No physical injuries were sustained. Around 11 a.m. the following morning, the accused attended the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and they were arrested.”
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 29.
