An annual car show dedicated to supporting those in need has returned for the first time since the pandemic began.
The 29th annual 'Sudbury CARes Motorsport Expo' is running this weekend at Copper Cliff Park, drawing out hundreds of car enthusiasts from across the province.
It's anticipated more than 400 cars will attend this weekend.
"We've received calls about this from Pembroke, Windsor, all over," said Joe Gervais, president of Sudbury Classic Cruisers Car Club, who organized the event.
The expo has raised $200,000 over the years for local charities. Additionally, between 600 and 900 pounds of food are collected on average each year for the local food bank.
The family friendly event will include a car cruise, face painting, live music and a movie viewing in New Sudbury on Saturday.
Charity is a huge component of the car show. This year, the organization will be donating to Neo Kids and the Sudbury Food Bank and the 50/50 draw will go to Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin. Additionally, all of the food vendors will be donating a portion of their proceeds to charity.
Gervais said a part of being a car enthusiast is giving back to the community.
"As old car people, a lot of what we do is spend money on parts and give to charity," he said.
"It's what we do. We give our time to charity."

Gervais told CTV News that introducing people to the trades is another component.
"We're there to try to get more people into the old and specialty car hobby to try to get more people into trade," he said.
"This is something Sudbury is very, we want to get more people into trades because if we lose our trades people we won't be able to practice our sports."
Non-perishable items and monetary donations will be accepted.
