A truck driver from southern Ontario was charged with careless driving in Sudbury early Thursday morning after ending up in a ditch.
Emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Highway 69 off-ramp leading to Highway 17 west around 3:40 a.m. April 10, Ontario Provincial Police said on social media.
The road was closed for more than four hours to investigate and remove the transport.
As a result, the 52-year-old driver from Mississauga was charged.
“OPP urges all drivers to slow down before a curve,” police said.
“Speeding into corners can cause a vehicle to lose control. Slow down before the turn, steer smoothly, do not brake hard mid-corner.”
Police said drivers should watch for gravel, water and wildlife.
“Every corner is different, treat them with respect,” OPP said.
“Arrive safe.”
