Espanola home robbed of $50K in antique currency, silver coins and other money

Sudbury — Someone broke into a home in Espanola and made off with a collection of antique and other currency worth as much as $50,000.

Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police received the call about the robbery on Avery Drive on Sept. 21, but say it could have taken place any time from Sept. 18-21.

The stolen property includes Canadian money, antique currency and some silver coins. Police say the value of the property is between $40,000 and $50,000.

Police are asking anyone with information about the break and enter call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
