Road reopened

Highway 17 is reopened in Markstay-Warren, east of Sudbury, on Tuesday morning after some downed power lines caused a brief closure, police say.

The road was closed in both directions for almost two kilometres between Sutcliffe Road and Labine Road, Ontario Provincial Police said on social media just before 7:30 a.m.

It reopened shortly before 8 a.m.

There is no word on what caused the downed lines.

OPP Const. Rob Lewis told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in a phone interview the downed lines were not caused by any vehicles and there was no crash.
