Snow day
School buses being cancelled across the northeast means a snow day and an early start to March break for many students.
Most schools remain open, but transportation is not being provided.
College campus closures
College Boréal closed its Elliot Lake campus Wednesday due to weather and announced the closure of campuses in Hearst, Kapuskasing and Timmins on Thursday.
“In addition to the cancelled courses (in person and by Zoom), the employment services offered by Boréal in these cities are also affected,” the school said on social media.
“Staff members who are able are invited to telework, the courses offered remotely by Boréal online will be maintained.”
