Licence plate reader detects expired plate, contraband tobacco seized: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 11 in Geraldton after an automated licence plate reader alerted officers to an expired plate on January 14, 2025. As a result of the traffic stop police seized 13 cases of chewing tobacco. (Supplied/Ontario Provincial Police)
