MR35 in Azilda closed due to a serious collision

Police at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash in the Sudbury community of Espanola that has closed MR35 for most of Thursday.

Sudbury police say a serious crash closed Municipal Road 35 in Azilda on Thursday.

“Officers are on scene re-routing traffic while the collision is under investigation,” police said on social media.

Traffic is closed in both directions at Montee Principale, police said.

Two people have been taken to hospital. One of the drivers of the two-vehicle collision suffered life-threatening injuries, police said in an update.

A detour is available at Notre Dame Avenue West. Police expect the roadway will be closed for an extended period of time.

“Motorists will experience delays,” police added.
