North Bay police seize $6.4K in drugs, prohibited knife in raid

Crime Stoppers in North Bay is offering $2K rewards for information leading to arrests for crimes involving drugs or guns amid a crackdown.

A 55-year-old North Bay man is charged with drug trafficking and weapon-related charges after a raid uncovered $6,400 in different illegal substances.

Officers with the emergency response team and street crime units searched a home on McIntyre Street East on Thursday, North Bay police said in a news release.

“The accused was located inside the residence, at which point he was arrested and charged,” police said.

Inside the home, officers found 11 different substances in varying amounts along with drug trafficking equipment, about $2,500 in cash and a knife that opens with centrifugal force.

Police seized 0.5 grams of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, 28 bottles of suspected methadone along with hundreds of pills suspected to be oxycodone, hydromorphone, Clonazepam, Clonidine, Pregabaline, Buprenorphone-Naloxone, Lisdexamphetamine and oxycocet.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

He is charged with eight counts of drug trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.
