The 28-year-old man gained access to a restricted area of a business on Charles Street East around 4 a.m. Dec. 10, North Bay police said in a news release Thursday.

He allegedly stored the stolen property in two bike trailers located on Kate Pace Way, which was discovered by the business' employees later that day.

Most of the stolen items were recovered.

Using a drone, officers "located the accused and tracked his movements until patrol units" were able to arrest him.

Video footage from the drone shows a person riding a bike down a residential street when two patrol cars pull up and stop the rider.

It turns out the e-bike he was riding was stolen.

He has been charged with breaking and entering to commit an indictable offence, possessing break-in tools and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 7.
