Police were called to a break-in at a northern Ontario post office last week and found a man with $18,000 in drugs and several knives inside.
Officers with the Manitoulin detachment responded to a burglar alarm around 5 a.m. March 26 at a postal facility in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday morning.

“Police arrived on scene and observed signs that the facility had been broken into,” OPP said.
“One person was located inside the facility, and they were safely arrested by police.”

Police seized suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, meth and dried cannabis along with several throwing knives, two large hunting knives and about $1,300 in cash.
“The drugs were located on his person when he was arrested,” OPP Const. Berkley Parisien told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
As a result, a 42-year-old man from Sagamok Anishinabek First Nation is facing 13 criminal charges.
In addition to breaking and entering, he is also charged with theft, mischief, drug trafficking, possessing property obtained by crime, having a weapon for a dangerous purpose, having more than 30 grams of pot in public and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
“The accused remains in custody,” the news release said.
