A 53-year-old from Timmins has been charged with impaired driving after arriving at an Ontario Provincial Police detachment impaired by alcohol.
The incident took place around 7 p.m., Kapuskasing OPP said in a news release Wednesday.
“An individual drove to the James Bay OPP detachment in Kapuskasing for an appointment,” police said.
“During their interaction with the individual, officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was subsequently arrested and subjected to further testing at the detachment.”
In addition to impaired driving charges, the accused was also charged with possession of magic mushrooms.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 24 in Kapuskasing.
In addition, the accused received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
