Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid a mischief charge after a reported vandalism incident in the Town of Bruce Mines earlier this month.

On April 11 at about 8:45 a.m., police responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Waltonen Road.

“While officers were en route, the individual was observed walking around the property and had spray-painted graffiti on the complainant’s garage, boat, and outbuildings,” OPP said in a news release.

The suspect left before police arrived but was later located by authorities in Thessalon.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old woman from Thessalon has been charged with mischief over $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on May 20.
