One person has died and two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 in northern Ontario.
It happened around 6:20 p.m. Monday just east of Terrace Bay, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews from Nipigon, about 105 kilometres west, responded to the incident involving two passenger vehicles.
“One individual has been pronounced deceased as a result of the collision,” OPP said.
“Two other individuals have been transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries.”
The road was closed until nearly 4 a.m. Tuesday.
No word on the cause of the crash or if any charges are pending.
The investigation is continuing.
