Police in Kirkland Lake seize opioids, meth worth $80K; two men facing charges

Sudbury — Two men from Kirkland Lake have been charged with drug offences after the Ontario Provincial Police raided a residence on Taylor Avenue on Thursday.

Police seized drugs suspected to be opioids (including fentanyl) and methamphetamines. Police also seized $3,680 in Canadian currency. Total estimated street value of the seizure is more than $80,000.

A 41-year-old man is charged with trafficking, drug possession and possession of property obtained by crime.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice by video on Nov. 23.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with two counts of drug possession. He was released and will appear in court in Kirkland Lake on Jan. 7.
