Police investigation closes Highway 652 in Cochrane

A police investigation has closed highways in Cochrane, Ont., according to an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) tweet Sunday evening.

“Highway 574 in Cochrane, Ont.: the road is closed in both directions at Highway 652 due to police investigation,” said police.

“OPP on scene.”

The Ministry of Transportation’s 511 Traveller Information Service shows the road closure began shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Police have not provided the reason the road had to be closed or the nature of their ongoing investigation.

No detours are listed as of the time of this publication and there is not estimated time for the roadway to reopen.

OPP urge motorists to call 511 or visit the 511 Traveller Information Service website for the latest traffic updates.
