After assisting with power restoration in Michigan’s upper peninsula, PUC Services Inc. crews are now deploying to southern Ontario to support recovery efforts following severe storms.

Five PUC powerline technicians spent days in northern Michigan after an ice storm left thousands without electricity. The team used snow machines to reach remote areas, making significant progress before returning to Canada.

With damage assessments now complete in southern Ontario, PUC has dispatched six technicians – including some who recently returned from Michigan – to assist in the Orillia area. Two of the six technicians left Friday morning.
The deployment was coordinated through the Ontario Mutual Assistance Group.
“PUC is proud that our crews are volunteering to assist where they’re needed the most,” said Rob Brewer, president and CEO of PUC Services.
“They continue to demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and a deep commitment to public service.”
The utility thanked workers across the province and beyond for their efforts in restoring power safely.
No timeline has been provided for power to be fully restored across the province; this is where things stood Friday.
