Report of an unwanted person leads to sexual assault charges: OPP

A 42-year-old from Temiskaming Shores faces multiple charges, including sexual assault, following an Ontario Provincial Police investigation at a Haileybury residence.

On April 27 at about 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unwanted person.

“While responding, officers located one person walking away from the residence,” the OPP said in a news release.

The accused was charged with sexual assault, assault with a weapon, and assault.

Authorities said the individual’s name is being withheld “to protect the identity of the victim.”

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury at a later date.
