A 40-year-old woman whose remains were found in a wooded area of Greater Sudbury this week died of blunt force injuries, police said Friday.
Carol Fournier was last seen on surveillance footage at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 8 walking alone on Beatty Street. A post-mortem conducted through the Coroner’s Office confirmed the cause of death.
Her body was located shortly before 2:40 p.m. in a wooded area west of McNeil Boulevard, north of the railway tracks.
She was last seen and found wearing a grey, mid-length FXR coat with fur around the hood, blue jeans, black rubber boots with grey trim around the top and black sunglasses.
She was carrying a grey purse and a green reusable shopping bag. Police have not said whether they have any suspects in mind or whether they have information on a possible motive.
