Two suspected drug dealers were arrested and around $30,000 in fentanyl and cocaine were seized during a traffic stop in Sudbury on Tuesday, police say.
A vehicle was pulled over on Lorne Street by patrol officers, the community response unit and detectives from the integrated crime section, Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Wednesday.
“As officers approached the vehicle, they could see the occupants throwing items into the back seat,” police said.
“While speaking with the occupants, officers saw a jar containing what were believed to be illicit drugs in plain view.”

Detectives found 252 grams of fentanyl, 44 grams of cocaine, a can of pepper spray, a scale and packing materials, along with $40 in American and $3,717 in Canadian cash, police said.
The vehicles two occupants, a 33-year-old woman and 30-year-old man are charged with having a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts each of drug trafficking.
The male suspect is also charged with two counts of breach of probation.
Both are scheduled to appear in bail court Wednesday.

“The Integrated Crime Section aims to identify and disrupt organized crime in Greater Sudbury through innovative technology, collaborative partnerships and traditional police work resulting in the arrest of those involved, holding them accountable for their criminal activities and the seizure of illegal drugs, prohibited firearms and proceeds of crime."
