Suspended driver charged after allegedly speeding on Hwy. 69

A 38-year-old Sudbury driver faces charges after Ontario Provincial Police says it caught them speeding on Highway 69 while under suspension.

The OPP said the vehicle was clocked at 149 km/h in a 110 km/h zone in the French River area during the April 16 incident.

Police charged the driver with speeding and two counts of driving while suspended.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days at the owner’s expense.

“The OPP would like to remind motorists to slow down,” police said in a social media post.

“Drive safe,” added OPP Const. Rob Lewis.
