The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow stops in the Sault

Great Northern Ontario Roadshow stops in the Sault Science North hopes to promote northern Ontario tourism by providing a showcase for local vendors and outfitters.

Following some successful events during the summer, Science North is expanding its Great Northern Ontario Roadshow into the winter months.

Since opening its office in Sault Ste. Marie earlier this year, Science North has been busy promoting itself and its partners to the local community.

The science centre staff or blue coats brought the show to Mockingbird Hill Farm in Sault Ste. Marie Saturday, where there were a number of scientific displays and demonstrations. Along with that, there were a number of other activities presented by Science North’s community partners.

“We have Forest the Canoe here offering some snowshoe tours, we have some decorations and making of Christmas ornaments with Thrive inside our pioneer cabin, so a little bit of everything for everybody,” said organizer Genna Patterson, who added the roadshow is more of a northern expo.

The aim of The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow is to stimulate the local economy by promoting the northern Ontario tourism industry and providing opportunities for local vendors to showcase their products and services.
