One person has been charged with drugged driving following an incident in Timmins Tuesday morning in which a car went up in the air and landed on another vehicle.
The incident took place at 10:49 a.m. on Suzanne Street, police said in a news release.
“Initial investigation revealed that the driver of a vehicle became airborne and landed on top of a parked vehicle,” police said.
No injuries
“Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The officer on scene had reasonable grounds to believe that the driver was impaired by drugs.”
The driver was evaluated by a drug recognition expert “who formed an expert opinion that the driver was impaired by drugs,” the release said.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days and the driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.
