In what police are call proof the system needs repairs, almost half of people North Bay police checked on were violating bail conditions.

Police are searching for a wanted federal offender currently serving time for convictions of robbery and assault with ties to three Ontario towns, including two in the north.

Dylan Doey, 26, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for allegedly breaching his statutory release, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday.

Doey “is known to frequent the Kingston, Timmins and Iroquois Falls” areas.

He is currently serving a three-year, seven-month and nine-day sentence for two counts each of robbery and aggravated assault, assault, break, enter and commit, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement and uttering threats to cause death or harm.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

He is 5-foot-7, 160 pounds and has two tattoos on his face: a star over his right eye and a teardrop under his left eye.

“Anyone having contact with this offender or information in regards to their whereabouts is asked to contact the Provincial R.O.P.E. Squad at 416-808-5900 or toll-free at 1-866-870-7673 (ROPE) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or call 911,” OPP said.

Doey was last seen Feb. 9 leaving a correctional institution in Kingston, Det. Const. Morley McGuire told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
