Sault Ste. Marie will soon be home to a youth wellness hub. It’s one of several to be announced across Ontario as part of the province’s Addictions Recovery Fund.
The hub is designed to provide a safe space for vulnerable, at-risk youth to access services.
The Sault's Youth Wellness Hub will be located downtown in what was once the lodge for the local chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
With its close proximity to public transit and the Station Mall, officials and grassroots addictions groups said it's an ideal spot.
Algoma Family Services will operate the hub. The building requires some renovations and upgrading to make it fully accessible. They anticipate the hub will open before the end of the year.
