Ottawa police hit the brakes on two motorists going more than 50 km/h over the speed limit on Ottawa roads.
The Ottawa Police Service’s Traffic Escort Unit says an officer observed a driver going 142 km/h n Leitrim Road near Limebank Road on Wednesday.
The speed limit is 80 km/h.
Another driver was stopped going 135 km/h on Highway 174 near Trim Road, according to police. The speed limit is 80 km/h.
“OPS Traffic Escort Unit enforcement specialists ‘pumping-the-brakes’ on 2 lead-footed drivers in the East/Southeast today,” police said.
The two drivers are facing a charge of stunt driving, which includes a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle is impounded for 14 days.
